Islands

Every time I write in this blog, I’m complaining. Well today is no different. I’m complaining at the lack of friendship. Or the losing of friendship. Jeez. Too many times have I been ignored or let go. I can already feel that shit happening.

I’ve decided that I’m like an island. I try and build bridges but the other sides never get completed. I’ve also got people who crash land. Most of them get rescued, coming back rarely to reminisce. A few get stranded, go crazy for a bit and then end up enjoying it all. Interesting concept.

On a brighter note, I’ve been writing.

Back. Back Again.

I’m back to say “FUCK THIS SHIT.” Mhm.

Today is just one of those reflective days. Reflection on the self. Self being myself.

I’m feeling…lonely? Not exactly. I know exactly. I’m just beating around the bush.

I want a bunch of friends who are always there to hang with. A dysfunctional lot who each have their own quirks and are just as weird as me. Plus a few normal ones to keep us in check. Wouldn’t that be swell? Yeah, it would.

I’ve got a free day tomorrow and well, there’s NO ONE to spend it with. Great? Sometimes. It leaves time for studying, working out, reading, watching True Blood and shopping.

But I’d like a buddy? Yeah, I would.

Exhaustion

Day 13- A song that you jam out to while driving: Feel It – Three 6 Mafia ft. Tiesto and Sean Kingston

There really is no need to explain. It’s fast and cool and awesome, just like any driving I do.

I’m too lazy to go find a link. Lazy.

My writing is getting SLOW. Because I’m so tired from moving and packing. Guh. I’ll be doing tons of writing on the plane and in India so yay for that.

My eyes are closing as I write this.

Finally Back

Day 12- A song that reminds you of high school: NOTHING.

I’ve got nothing. Probably because my brain is TOTALLY fried.

Anyway, I’ve got one final left and I haven’t even studied for it. Just political science but MEH. I’ll get to it.

I kind of need to start writing again. That will be happening :)

I think I’ve found the theme-ish song for my two main characters? Obviously, it doesn’t sprout up till later but this song just seems to work. The lyrics are great and that saucy beat is brilliant.

Anyway, I’ll see if I can finish writing an excerpt and post it. Maybeeeeeeee <3

Sunny Days and Breeze.

Today was one of the nicest days. It was sunny and breezy and while I’m no fan of the summer, it was a spectacular morning. I sat outside, staring at the lake and natures and drinking MAH TEA. And then went over to Panera Bread to study where I ran into an old high school friend I hadn’t seen in ages. Studied till 3 when he got off work at Panera and we chatted till about 5:30. It was a completely intellectual conversation which I haven’t had in EONS. We talked about religion and our healthcare system and education. Definitely enjoyed that. Didn’t realized he had transfered to a closer college. Yeaaaaah. Good stuff. Too bad I still have more to study before tomorrow.

Day 11- A song that you’ve played on replay for hours: Groove On The Dancefloor – The Bilz & Kashif

The songs I play on replay for hours change accordingly. There are a couple of songs I always float back too but I couldn’t listen to them forever. This one caught my ears with really nice beats. Enjoy.

Sure, they’re corny to look at but they make hot music together. Nonsexually, I think.

First Loves and Nonsense

Finally got my new apartment signed. With my sister. Not so awesome awesome but I’m cool with it. It’s a GORGEOUS place. A huge living room and smaller bedrooms with my OWN BATHROOM. And we overlook the pool and it’s all pretty. I’m excited. On the downside, I spent ALL day doing that and none of my day studying. Bitching.

Day 10- A song that reminds you of your first love: Lucky – Jason Mraz ft. Colbie Caillat

I recently hung out with my ex and a bunch of other people at a wings place. And we heard this song. And at that point, we turned to each other and said “I can’t even listen to this song anymore”. It was hilarious. Anyway, it reminds me of him (and I’m pretty sure it reminds him of me) because one day I was at his house and we were sharing music. He played this song and I loved it so much that I pulled him to the middle of the kitchen and started slow dancing with him. It was really silly but it really just got stuck in our heads. Sounds like something that happens in the movies, right? I make those moments happen. Bazinga.

Meh.

So. I’m STRESSED like unbelievably about finals. Jeez. It’s getting insane in my brain (initially, I had spelled it ‘brane’). That’s how bad off I am. Anyway, it’s only until May 11th. Then, I’m good. Sweet.

Day 09- A song that makes you uncontrollably smile: Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss – Bloodhound Gang.

While any some by the Bloodhound Gang is HILARIOUS…like The Bad Touch which is the Discovery Channel song, this a hidden beauty. Serious. The lyrics are just hilarious. And the video…GOLD. A sure fire way to brighten my day.

TSO? Yeaaaaah.

Busy busy day studying but for all my True Blood loving friends, here’s the minisode of the week. Season 3 is so far away. June 13th! Too bad I’ll still be in India. Boo.

30 Days/30 Songs

Day 01- Your most recent song choice: Ratatat – Seventeen Years. This song has become my latest obsession. Almost no lyrics and a great beat make for a badass driving song.

Day 02- A song that reminds you of your childhood: Everybody – Backstreet Boys. Seriously, this song just opened my childhood into it’s world of possibilities. I feel like it molded my weirdness. It hit me a couple of months ago that this was the song that got me into vampires and the supernatural. And the timing was perfect. It was 1997 and I was lump of clay and it just molded the hell out of me. SHWEET.

Day-03- A song that helped mend your broken heart: Good Times Gonna Come – Aqualung. Aqualung is LOVE. Their entire CD makes my life go round. I don’t know why it helped me out, but it just did. Mhm.

Day 04- A song you want played at your wedding: I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing – Aerosmith. This song caught my ears way back when and I just knew. It’s PERFECT. With his crooning and the nice beats, it’s fantastical.

Day 05- A song that reminds you of your parent(S): Stacy’s Mom – Fountains of Wayne. This is the only song that my mother knows the words too. She later told me that she wished she had named me Stacy. I love that woman.

Day 06- A song that you wish you knew the words to: Funny Little Feeling – Rock ‘N Roll Soldiers. Now THIS is SUCH a feel good, driving, totally awesome song. Serious. I heard it about 5 years ago and WOW, it’s amazing. It’s so raunchy and fun. Too bad the lyrics go by SO fast and are totally incomprehensible unless you’re reading lyrics off something. I think the only lyrics I know are “Prison warden, teenage boy, transvestite with high heels on”. And obviously, I chose not use the actual music video for OBVIOUS reasons. Ian > Almost Everything.

Day 07- A song by a band that has influenced you in some way: Ni Nachleh – Imran Khan. I wrote my first scene from my book to this song. I remember dreaming it and the song was playing and everything fit perfectly. It was the scene where my characters first meet each other and it was awesome. Definitely a favorite.

Day 08- A song that you heard at your first concert: Christmas Eve/Sarajevo – Trans-Siberian Orchestra. What a dork, I know, my first concert being TSO. BUT it was amazing.Went to see them right around Christmas time and wow, it really set the mood. It’s the perfect mix of festive and badass.

Bombed that Chem test list nobody’s business. Time to ace that final. YEAH. I CAN DO IT. In other news, my sister and I went to see a new apartment complex. Beastly. It’s gorgeous and closer to my campus. Almost no downsides. I shall update you as I go.

Day 6 and Already BEHIND. Damn.

I’m SO behind on this. Quick update since I gotta get back to studying for Chemistry! RAH! Ummmm…I’ve started writing again during breaks. Beast! More character development for sure. You learn a bit more about EVERYONE. Suweeeet.

BTW, the woman behind me won’t shut the F up. Obviously the downside of studying at Borders. Upside is good coffee and hogging the outlet for the entire day and NOBODY says anything :)

CHEERS!
